Kim for Model Number PYE2300AYW Thinking the timer was bad I replaced it. Dryer still won't shut off in either of the two Auto Dry cycles. Timer/cycle knob will just continue to travel around into the next cycle. In Timed Drying the dryer will shut off when the control knob reaches Off. Is this a sign of a bad cycling thermostat? If so I have seen two different voltage cycling thermostats, a 120 volt and a 240 volt. Which one would I need to replace the existing one in the dryer? BTW, I have completely cleaned the ductwork and inside the dryer.
Answer Hello Kim. You will need to check the wiring from the cycling thermostat to the timer and the resistor on the timer. Either could cause the issue your having. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
