Lee for Model Number Kerc507hbL2 I purchased a new infinite switch that is the only one offered. It is supposed to be a direct replacement but the wire diagram leaves out an orange wire that I'm guessing is for a red connection and no where to plug in the blue wire for the red indicator light on the face. The instructions leave out #'s from the original part.I really don't want burn up a new switch.Any ideas?
Answer Lee, I take for granted, the new infinite switch is for the Left Front Dual element burner ? This is what I have, and should be the way to wire your replacement switch. First, install the added jumper wire to the P1 and S1 terminals of the new switch. The Black L1 wire was on the #2 terminal of the old switch, is now attached to the other P1 terminal of the new switch. The red wire on terminal #3, will now be attached to terminal #4 of the new switch. The blue wire #4 will now attach to terminal #4a on the new switch. The wire for the pilot light/indicator light (blue) #5 will attach to terminal # S2 on the new switch. The brown wire #N should now attach to terminal # 2 on the new switch. And the red/orange wire, should connect to terminal # P2 on the new switch. I'm pretty sure you'll be fine after this. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
