Claude for Model Number 8203538 Infinite Switch

I just bought a replacement infinite switch for my KitchenAid Superba stove and the replacement part was a 8203538 infinite switch. The installation instructions say that I'm supposed to attach the provided jumper between terminals P1 and S1, however my switch came without this jumper cable. What does this jumper cable do and would it be safe to operate the stove without this jumper in place? Should I return the part and get them to replace it with one that comes with the jumper?

1 Answer

Hello Claude, you can return the part for another to see if it is in the package as it should be or you can make a jumper from a short piece of wire and two spade connectors, one a piggyback connector TJMA02896-1 and one standard TJMA02875-1.

Lee, I take for granted, the new infinite switch is for the Left Front Dual element burner ? This is what I have, and should be the way to wire your replacement switch. First, install the added jumper wire to the P1 and S1 terminals of the new switch. The Black L1 wire was on the #2 terminal of the old switch, is now attached to the other P1 terminal of the new switch. The red wire on terminal #3, will now be attached to terminal #4 of the new switch. The blue wire #4 will now attach to terminal #4a on the new switch. The wire for the pilot light/indicator light (blue) #5 will attach to terminal # S2 on the new switch. The brown wire #N should now attach to terminal # 2 on the new switch. And the red/orange wire, should connect to terminal # P2 on the new switch. I'm pretty sure you'll be fine after this. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Charles! Unfortunately, we do not have any information regarding model ykerc507hs2. This is showing to be an international model. I would suggest contacting the manufacture for further parts assistance. Thanks.
