Louis R. for Model Number mav9750aww When my load of laundry is spinning with water in the tub, there is water that is leaking from under the tub and splashing on the inside panels of the washer. The quantity of water is not too large, but after a second load of laundry, there is water on the floor. Could there be a gasket problem under the tub? This occurs only when on spin cycle.
Answer Hello Louis, This is a drain issue. I would first make sure all of the water is drained out and unplug the unit. Tilt the unit up to expose the belt. The motor is on a spring loaded mount so you can roll the belt off. Turn the drain pump pulley by hand to see if there is any opposition to rotation of the pulley. If there is, there is either a bad bearing in the pump or the pump WP35-6780 is fouled with debris. Notice also while under the unit if there is any oil at all. The belt WP22003483 will slip too much if the belt gets oil on it. If there is oil, it's probably from a bad lip seal 207843 in the base of the transmission. Most likely there is debris in the pump. If the pump turns freely and there is no oil present, you can shortcut the outer tub check by removing the drain pump to tub hose from the bottom of the tub and feel in the hole for any small garments that may have jumped the inner tub.
