Erin March 22, 2015 for Model Number MAV5000AWQ I have a 15 year old Maytag washer (MAV5000AWQ) that I am going to replace. I would like to know the capacity for comparison purposes. I cannot find that information on the machine or in my manual. Can anyone help?
Louis R. June 20, 2012 for Model Number mav9750aww When my load of laundry is spinning with water in the tub, there is water that is leaking from under the tub and splashing on the inside panels of the washer. The quantity of water is not too large, but after a second load of laundry, there is water on the floor. Could there be a gasket problem under the tub? This occurs only when on spin cycle.
1 Answer Hello Louis, This is a drain issue. I would first make sure all of the water is drained out and unplug the unit. Tilt the unit up to expose the belt. The motor is on a spring loaded mount so you can roll the belt off. Turn the drain pump pulley by hand to see if there is any opposition to rotation of the pulley. If there is, there is either a bad bearing in the pump or the pump WP35-6780 is fouled with debris. Notice also while under the unit if there is any oil at all. The belt WP22003483 will slip too much if the belt gets oil on it. If there is oil, it's probably from a bad lip seal 207843 in the base of the transmission. Most likely there is debris in the pump. If the pump turns freely and there is no oil present, you can shortcut the outer tub check by removing the drain pump to tub hose from the bottom of the tub and feel in the hole for any small garments that may have jumped the inner tub. Please let us know what you find if further assistance is required. Read More...
Muhammad May 11, 2012 for Model Number MAV8600AWW Hello. I have three question in order to replace tub. 1: I already removed agitator, spinner. Next step is to use spanner wrench and seal nut tool. From where I can buy these tools? There are different shapes of spanner wrench. 2: How I can remove springs from the rear? Looks difficult to reach my hand ? 3: In the instructions, there is a warning, dont let tub and transmission assembly tip over. What I suppose to do here.
1 Answer Hi Muhammond. The spanner nut seal tool is part # TJ22002898 The spanner wrench for that tool is part # TJSHSW-1. The spring removal tool is part # TJ22002922. You reach down the back side of the outer tub and lift up on the rear spring round finger grab point to lift the spring out from the outer tub support basket. You can use a pick tool (local hardware store) that has a hook already formed onto it to lift it as well. Thank You. Read More...
Lam September 25, 2011 for Model Number MAV4057AWW I replaced the new gasket still leak while washer filling water Need some advise Thank you
1 Answer Lam, Which gasket did you replace ? If the washer leaks only in the fill cycle, you'll need to raise the washer top and check the fill valve and injector assemblies WP22002707 22002722 and check the inner tub assembly position, the tub opening should be cenetrred in the lid opening or a slight lean to the rear.
