Elias for Model Number GSF26C5EXY02 We have a Whirlpool Gold side by side Refrigerator. It is approximately 3 years old. Inspection revealed that the water inlet valve has developed a slow leak. We do have high mineral hard water in our region. It is also connected to the hot water line as recommended by the installer. Installer said that hot water heater helps in reducing mineral build up. Is this true? Under these conditions what is the normal life span of a typical original inlet valve. Does hard water cause buildup and back pressure in the valve to cause leak?
Answer Elias, Yes heating water will partially reduce the amount of minerals but it is not recommended to install a refrigerator with hot water hook up. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, March 22, 2016
