Andrew for Model Number DG303 Hi appliance repair, I have an older DG303. My symptoms are that the dryer turns on normally, igniter glows for about ten seconds (seems very bright), then a click sound, and the igniter dulls. Gas is releasing through valve. I can smell the gas but no ignition. I thought it was initially bad solenoid coils so I just replaced, no fix. Old coils also tested good. High limit thermostat tests good, flame sensor tests good, igniter tests about 74 ohms resistance, cycling thermostat tests good. Only thing I noticed was a sort of odd screeching noise once or twice during the gas release, but can't pinpoint with any regularity. No ignition at all of the gas that does come out - it seems to come out too late for the igniter to ignite it. Bad gas valve?
Answer Andrew, based on the description of the issue and that the valve has a screeching when the gas is being released, more than likely the gas valve [WP306176] is the issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, April 8, 2019
