Rich B. for Model Number MDG3000AWA Maytag Neptune The igniter comes on and lites the gas but then goes out after a minute or so. I have replace the igniter, the thermal fuse and both coils. After I replaced the coils the igniter comes on then the gas for a few seconds then goes out. I also see a flame at the gas valve and it is making a rattling sound when trying to lite. Do I need to replace the gas valve? Thanks Rich
Answer Hi Rich. At first it almost sounded like the flame sensor is defective. Part # WP338906, it acts as asimilar as an electric cycling thermostat regulating heat. When you said @ the small / chattering flame then you need to replace the gas valve part # is WP306176. The diaphram is weak and at fault. Thank you. Read More...
