Jorge for Model Number mdg6460aww i turn the dryer the igniter glows and stays glowing but no gas ...i change the coils i seen that it has a sleve in the pin where the coils sits but i only seen one sleve i didn't turn it back on to test also is there anyway that you can regulate the flame in the valve by unscrewing it in the regulator if you screw down you get less gas?
Answer Jorge, You say the igniter comes on and glows, and stays glowing, it never cycles off ? in that case you have a problem with the radiant/flame sensor WP338906 This switch opens the coils and releases the gas for ignition. The igniter needs to produce a heat range of 2300 to 2500 degrees, it only takes a few seconds( 10 to 15 seconds on average) to reach temperature and the radiant sensor will open the circuit, the igniter will start to fade, and the gas should be released and ignite. No you cannot adjust the flame size or burn time by adjusting the regulator cap. The regulator pressure is preset at the factory for the national standart of Gas Supply company(s). As long as your operating your dryer on Natural Gas you don't need to touch the regulator. Thanks and Good Luck Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, October 24, 2011
