Mark S for Model Number mdg6400awq Just received gas valve and still having same issue. Changed ignitor, and app liance comes on about 15 seconds and then cools down and shuts off. What would you suggest I do next.
Answer Mark, We're taking for granted you're discussing the burner flame cooling down and shutting off, not the dryer itself ? Presumably you don't have an issue with the gas supply to the dryer. You should have 3.0 to 4.0 WCI constant at the wall connection/shut off. Your next check should be to check the burn time, and dryer exhaust temperature, with the dryer vent disconnected. That should be an avrage of 155 dgrs, and the burner flame should be on for approximately 60 seconds, with no load in the dryer. A clogged or restricted exhaust pipe or hood,or lint build up in the blower housing(under the lint filter) will cause the dryer to cycle the hi limit switch and shut the burner down early. If the burner still cycles to quick, with the vent off, then it's time to check or replace the cycling thermostat or hi limit switch. Thanks Read More...
