Dave for Model Number GS563LXSS

I have read many of the symptoms relating to the oven/broiler not lighting but the stovetop working fine. These are the same symptoms I have and based on this majority of the discussions, I ordered a spark module. I replaced the module and still have the same symptoms. I have checked the voltages across the orange and red wire (bake position) as well as the orange and blue wire (broil position). I get a momentary spike in voltage as the igniter tries to start in the bake position. I get 55 volts that slowly declines over a few minutes in the broil position but I do not hear the igniter start. I have no gas flowing in both cases. Based on the discussions, it sounds like I may have a couple of issues but I believe the spark module isn't one of them. Where should I turn my atten to?

Answer

Hi Dave. The The bake ignitor is part # WP9758079. The broil ignitor is part # WP8054129. The spark module is part # []. It is unusual that both ignitors are defective at the same time. They should ohm out between 50-800 ohms cold. Not open , 0 or infinity. It sounds like the spark module is defective as both are having issues. This part # is WPW10331686. At the back of the control panel or the Drawer there is a service tech . sheet to assist if there are any fault codes to decipher in the service mode. If we can assist. you further, let us know. Thank You.
