Angela for Model Number WFG371LVQ 1 1. When I turn on my oven, it sounds like it is trying to ignite but then igniter turns off, and I smell gas until I push cancel button. (The stove top burners and the broiler works). 2. The installation instructions say "the oven bake burner should light within 8 seconds." Also states "Under certain conditions it may take the burner up to 50 to 60 seconds to light. What does this mean - "under certain conditions?" 3. From reading other Q & A, it looks like I could have an igniter or gas valve problem. If gas valve is bad, should I replace or have a professional replace it? I know I can replace the igniter myself. Thanks for your help.
Answer Angela, Check and make sure the burner tube is totally clean, especially in the area of the igniter, check and make sure the igniter has a bright white spark, when trying to ignite the gas( be careful). Based on your post, you may have a weak bake burner circuit in the DSI spark module or a loose connection WPW10331686 . "Under Certain Conditions" relates to several possibilities, usually due to a gas flow/pressure issue, low pressure, seldom used oven , debris in the gas line and more. As for replacing the distribution valve or DSI module, we're sure you can do it, it's no more difficult than replacing the igniter. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
