Bob S. for Model Number KitchenAid (KSRB22FKBL14) On the quick connect fittings, my fittings on the valve inlet solenoid are leaking. I've made sure to insert the water tubing the exact same as you did in the video - with 90 degree straight cuts. Can the quick connect fittings be no good? It seems like this type of setup would be pretty foolproof??
Answer Bob, Make sure the tube ends aren't distorted, they have to be as round as possible, since you're sure the ends are cut straight and there are no burrs, or shavings remaining on the tube ends, try this method. Press in on the collar that surrounds the water tube, insert the tube as far as possible, (until the tube bottoms out and stops) release the collar and pull out on the tube "slightlly" to make sure the locking mechanism grips the water tube, and the tube is inside the fitting enough to seat against/in the "O" ring seal inside the fitting.
