Sally for Model Number ARS8265BS There was water leaking out from the bottom of my refrig. I have discovered that it is leaking from below where the water hose is attached. This looks like the correct part to replace. Is it? And is it easy to replace?
Answer Sally, If your leak is from the valve, where the water supply line from the wall attaches then you need the primary fill valve WP12544002 . Its a relatively easy repair, just remember to shut the water off at the wall before you start. Basic household hand tools are about all you'll need. Basically, move the fridge out away from the wall, disconnect the water supply line from the fill valve(use a container or towel to collect the residual water in the line, unplug the power cord and remove the lower rear access panel on the back of the fridge. Remove the mounting screws holding the valve to the refrigerator frame, Disconnect and install the wires and tubes, one at a time, so you don't loose track, and reverse the procedure and test the operation.
