Donny for Model Number KFIS27CXMS0 Hammering noise coming from rear of fridge. Ice maker filling would trigger noise, which would not stop on its own. Dispensing more water used to eliminate the noise for several hours. Noise is now constant despite dispensing water. Suspect water valve but unsure.
Answer Donny, Thanks for the question!!! This noise is known as water hammer. It could be a bad valve or it could be a pressure issue with the house plumbing. Replacing the valve may solve the issue. Your local hardware store should also carry a device called a water hammer arrestor. The arrestor would most likely be the best option to solve the issue. Read More...
