André for Model Number KFIS27CXMS2 After using the water dispensor, it would drip about half a cup then stop. I changed the water filter, it started to drip non stop. I changed the water\ice Kit thinking that might be it but it was still dripping non stop. I must have drain 50 litres of water through the new filter. Now it's back to about half a cup after every use. What's next? Thanks Andre
Answer Hello André, thank you for contacting APP, There may be a few things that could cause this. I’m not exactly sure what is meant by the Water/Ice Kit, but the Dual Valve WP12956105 near the Filter Head may not be closing properly immediately after the unit is done dispensing water, also there is a check valve in the Filter Head WPW10216070 that may be having issues. I would also recommend being sure your water pressure to the unit is in the correct range, about 40-60psi, if too low or too high the valve may have difficulty seating after dispensing. You may also try disconnecting the water line at the valve and the door connector and trimming them smooth and even, if possible, with a razor knife and then firmly seating them back in their connections, this will prevent small air bubbles, that can cause an issue like this, from getting into the lines during dispensing, if attempting this repair be sure to trim as little as possible off of the ends of the line. Finally, you can splice in a check valve that will also help in preventing this issue, this tends to work better the closer to the dispenser end of the line you get, but can be placed anywhere between the valve itself and the dispenser behind the User Interface; if attempting this repair you will need to measure the size of the water line to get the correct check valve, the 1/4” check valve is WP2314271 and the 5/16” check valve is 8201815.
