Eric for Model Number 2315576 installed new #2315576 water inlet valve for ice maker. Good water supply at the valve. Valve/solenoid not opening to allow water into ice maker when trigger arm in ice maker in down position. (This inlet valve a new substitute different from the 3 I have replaced over past 20 years.)
Answer Eric, The new water inlet valve WP2315576 may look and mount differently, but it is still electrically and mechanically the same. when thee ice maker module cycles and rotates to the 12 to 1 o'clock position contacts close and voltage is supplied to the valve solenoids, the solenoids energize the plunger lifts and water flows through the valve to the ice maker. Try this, disconnect the wires from the valve solenoid, and attach meter leads or a test light to the wires. Remove the ice maker front cover, use a short piece of 14 gauge, insulated wire with 1/2 to 3/4 inch insulation removed from both ends. insert one end of the wire into the opening labeled T and the other end into the opening labeled H, hold the wire there until the main front gear rotates to the 7 or 8 o'clock position, then remove the wire. Observe the meter or light, when the rake arm rotates to the 12 o'clock position, the meter should register 120 VAC or the test light should illuminate. If not check for loose connections and suspect the ice maker control module. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, March 23, 2015
