Manufacturer Part Number: WP2315576

The Water Inlet Valve is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool washing machines. It is a crucial component responsible for controlling the flow of water into the washing machine tub during the fill cycles.

Symptoms of a bad water inlet valve include:

  • Washing machine not filling with water or filling slowly
  • Leaks or water drips around the valve or water supply connections
  • Improper water temperature mixing, resulting in incorrect wash temperatures
  • Error codes or warning lights related to water supply or fill issues

Causes of a faulty water inlet valve can include sediment buildup or obstructions within the valve, mechanical wear and tear, electrical malfunctions, or problems with the solenoid that controls the valve's operation.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore washing machines.

Michael for Model Number Whirlpool Gold GI6SARXXF00

Hello, I have the Whirlpool Gold GI6SARXXF00.I have water going to the dual valve.Just cannot get water passed it. Troubleshooting we done: Thawed out the fridge for 3 days. No ice clogging lines Replaced filter Replaced water inlet solenoid w10498990 Replaced dual water valve w10312696 I feel like the control board (?) is not sending a signal to the dual valve. Is that a possibility? If so which board? Please help. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We just moved into this house in Florida and could use water and ice.

Answer

Michael, if water is going to the icemaker (and ice will dispense out through the dispenser) but not through the water dispenser, the water dispenser paddle WPW10368730 would need to be tested for continuity while it is being pressed. If there is continuity, it is likely that the main control WPW10285199 is not sending voltage to the valve when the water paddle is pressed. This can be tested at the main control connection P3 from the yellow wire to neutral/ground while the paddle is pressed. If there is not voltage, the control has failed. If there is voltage but the 120VAC does not reach the dual valve (verified by testing the valve directly with the door switch taped down and the paddle pressed in), there would be a wiring failure within the harness that runs through the wall of the unit.
