Odie for Model Number LAT5916AAE Hello, I have a Maytag washer model # LAT5916AAE Serial # 1103528905 with a slow drip inside the tub. Your website shows two water valves available for this unit. Which one should I get based on the serial #? Also, can I replace (get access to) the water valve from behind the washer or do I need to remove the front and top panels? Thanks!
Answer Odie, according to your model/serial number you will use part number WP22001274 for the inlet valve. You will need to remove the screws that secure the control panel to the top of the washer and unplug the wire connector. Release the clips holding the top of the cabinet using a flat head screw drive. You will then tilt the cabinet towards you, slide it foward, and remove it from the washer. Remove the water inlet hoses, note the hoses to make sure you install them correctly back onto the appliance. Remove the two wire connectors from the valve, also note the hot/cold connectors to make sure they are installed properly back. Remove the mounting screw and slide the valve out of the back panel. Using pliers remove the clamp on the hose and reinstall the valve in reverse order. Hope this helps you, thanks! Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Saturday, February 18, 2012
