Susan December 23, 2021 I purchased a WP22001274. The old solenoid assembly on my machine did not have the two mounting screws. What size screws do I need to mount the solenoid to the mounting bracket?

Mark January 14, 2021 for Model Number LAT9706AAE How do I go about changing the console on top of my Maytag Washing Machine, Model No. LAT9706AAE? The plastic tabs that secure the console to the top of the housing got broken during a recent move & the only thing that currently holds it in place is the sheet metal backing panel. I was fortunate to find a replacement console (a part no longer available from the manufacturer), & am wondering if transferring all of the controls (including the front control panel) is something for a do-it-yourselfer to tackle? Thanks.
1 Answer Mark, transferring the parts is going to be relatively easy that a do-it-yourselfer can certainly do. The knobs would need to be removed first, followed by unscrewing the console from the back panel. This will then allow access to the components attached to the console where the mounting screws would be removed and each part transferred one at a time to the new console. Read More...
Frank October 13, 2020 for Model Number LAT9406AAE There are 2 Water Inlets for this washer, how do I know which on to order?
1 Answer Hello Frank, One of the water valves listed is for series 20, [AP60062890], and the other is for series 10, WP22001274. The first two digits of the serial number is the series number of the appliance. If it begins with 19 or lower, it is a series 10 and you would need to order WP22001274. If it begins with 20 or higher, it is a series 20 and you would need the [AP60062890]. Read More...
John March 05, 2020 for Model Number LAT8714AAE Hot water fill is a trickle: cold water fill is normal. 6 months ago replaced hoses and screens. Worked for about 2 months and then hot water slow once again. I guess it MIGHT be solenoid or dirty screen on hot water side. But the back of machine is hard to access (tight spaces) and while I could do it up until I reached 75 I will need to hire a repair person. I'm inclined to make it a one-stop job and have the new valve before calling the repair person. Your thoughts? Thanks.
1 Answer John, It would be likely the screen being clogged but it would not be a bad idea to get the water valve to have on hand just in case. The part number for the valve is WP22001274. Read More...
Paul March 14, 2019 for Model Number LAT5914AAE With machine shut off and unplugged, water drips into the tub. It seems that I would need to install a new Water valve AP606209. do you agree or am I missing something? Thanks
1 Answer Paul, We are in agreement with you, the water valve WP22001274 Water Valve would be the issue. The internal diaphragm is allowing the water to "seep" through and allows the washer to fill in the off position. Replace the valve and you'll be OK. The part is in stock and available at this time. Danielle March 09, 2019 for Model Number LAT9304AAE ALL FUCTIONS OF THE WASHER WORK EXCEPT WHEN ITS TIME TO FILL WITH WATER, THEN NOTHING HAPPENS...IS THIS BECAUSE OF THE WATER INLET VALVE?
1 Answer DANIELLE, Check for 120 vac at the water inlet valve. No voltage found means timer needs replaced. If you have 120 vac then replace the water valve if no blockage in the screens are found. You can unhook your hoses and test this. Read More...
Kurt February 22, 2018 for Model Number LAT9406AAM, serial # 11262974QU Is the water inlet valve WP22001274 appropriate for my washer?

Greg August 15, 2017 for Model Number LAT9616AAE Washer will not fill with water, I would like to know if there is any other part causing this issue besides the water inlet valve?
1 Answer Hello Greg. Make sure the lid switch is good and check the pressure switch on the unit. If those are good, then test for power to the valve. If there is power there and no water, then the valve is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jerry D. March 05, 2017 for Model Number LAT9304AAM (Maytag) When the water temp control is moved to warm or hot no hot water comes into the tub. What is way to determine if it is the switch or the water valve? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Jerry, You should check for voltage at the hot water valve WP22001274 during a hot water fill. If no voltage is present, the issue will be either the water temperature switch or the wiring. I'm sorry but this part 208283, water temperature switch, has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Read More...
