Jeronomo S for Model Number MAYTAG MOD#MAH4000AWW SER#11286054WF I am a retired Mechanial Engineer I have keep this Neptune washer running I have had it apart and spread all over the garage when I rented a Tony tool and replaced the bearings. Now 8 months post the bearing job it just shuts off, sometimes during first five seconds but mostly on the 2nd rinse and extra rinse of course I suspected the water valve so I took it out and the continuity was fine. I removed and have cleaned all connections and have check for restrictions. I even took out the pumps disassembled and cleaned. The machine when it runs it runs great except the old lady is just wants new with all the steam toys. 2 years ago I fixed the control board got the parts at R Shack. It just bothers me I can not fix it. I guess I will just put in a new water valve and pressure switch. What do you think. In 42 years of marrage this is the third set of Maytags but these Neptunes have been a challange. Maytag should have sent me a free set for the R & D in the field they might not have gone belly up. For some reason I just like these Neptunes. Please Advise.
Answer Hello Jeronomo, It appears that it may be a control board issue. You should check for voltage to the water valve when the unit stops and see if the valve is getting power. If not then you have a control board WP22002989 issue rather than a pressure switch or valve. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, November 15, 2012
