Manufacturer Part Number: WP8182862

The Water Valve is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. It controls the flow of water into the washer during the fill cycles, ensuring that the machine gets the correct amount of hot and cold water for washing and rinsing clothes. This valve is essential for the proper functioning of the washing machine.

You should replace the water valve if it becomes faulty. Causes of a bad water valve can include mineral buildup from hard water, electrical issues, or wear and tear from regular use. A malfunctioning valve can lead to issues such as inadequate water flow, leaking, or the washer not filling properly.

Symptoms of a bad water valve include:

  • The washer not filling with water or filling slowly
  • Water leaks around the valve area
  • Inconsistent water temperature during fill cycles
  • The washer not advancing through cycles due to improper water levels

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
