Mr.Mayor for Model Number MTW5800TW0 Hi, I have a Maytag MTW5800TW0 direct drive top load washer. It wasn't drying the clothes properly on spin cycle so I replaced the clutch assembly. Immediately after that it started making a scraping noise on agitation and spin cycle but did spin properly. About a month later it again stopped spinning properly so I replaced the clutch again, but this time it took away most of the noise but still doesn't spin properly. It goes into the spin cycle so it's not the timer. The drive block looks fine too. Thanks.
Answer Mr Mayor, You will want to make sure that when installing the clutch you put the correct spring in place. If you did then this would likely be a basket drive that needs to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, June 7, 2018
