Mike M for Model Number Maytag Washer MVWC6ESWW1 Agitates, Drains but doesn't always spin. We initially thought it wasn't spinning due to overloading, but even with light loads it sometimes doesn't spin. I found that by manually turning the drum, then running it through the spin cycle again, it sometimes works. Is it the clutch? Thanks
Answer Hello Mike, This can be caused by the clutch slipping, a brake that is not releasing, something in the drain pump, a loose connection on the motor capacitor, or even a failing lid switch. You will need to remove the cabinet and bypass the lid switch and run the machine to see if the problem will occur during operation if it turns out to be electrical. You will have to drop the gearcase to check the clutch and brake assemblies. Let us know if we can assit further. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, September 1, 2020
