Russ for Model Number WTW5560SQ0 Getting hard jolting stops after spin cycles. Seems like brakes locking up. I've done almost a complete rebuild on this 16 year old Whirlpool but never replaced brakes/basket drive. I've read that trying a small amount of silicone brake lube on the inside wall of the basket drive is worth a try. Just wonder what your thoughts are and what could be causing the really hard stops (sometimes sounding like it's going to come through our floor) after spin cycles. It happens after wash/rinse spins as well. On occasion it won't do the hard jolting stops but it's almost all of the time. Thanks for any suggestions.
Answer Russ, It sounds like you may just need to replace the brakes 285438. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, April 7, 2025
