Michael H. for Model Number Amana TH21V2W I have tried replacing the water inlet valve on the fridge but that didn't fix the problem. Then I went ahead and replaced the icemaker assembly, but there still is no water going into the plastic tube that supplies water from the inlet valve to the icemaker. I checked both the replacement inlet valve and the original, and they both have continuity. There is an electrical connection to the inlet valve and also to the icemaker. There is no reason for me to believe that a short has developed in either, but how do I go about testing to see if I have power coming from both of these connections? I have a multimeter but I'm strictly an amateur at this and need some advice.
Answer Hello Michael. Have you checked and made sure the fill tube going to the icemaker is not frozen? If it is clear, you can test the valve, with the icemaker cycling, to see if it is sending power to the water valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
