Gerry for Model Number MVWX500XW0 I have a Maytag Bravos washer model # MVWX500XW0. I need to remove the washplate (original part # W10215119). I have removed the cap and the bolt/washer and I should be able to simply lift the washplate up and out, but it is stuck. No amount of pulling will release it. Short of destroying it, I cannot remove the washplate. Any suggestions?
Answer Hello Gerry, The cap and bolt are all that hold this in position. You can put a very small amount of penetrating oil on it to help free it up but be cautious not to get much in there since there are items in this unit that cannot withstand petroleum products. You can also remove the tub cover and grab the edges of the spin basket and bump up on the impeller with the spin basket. This will many times pop the impeller out. Read More...
