Jason M. for Model Number Maytag Bravos Should my inner washer basket have splines? I recently pulled my washer plate and basket out to clean and my basket lifted up freely. the inside of the hole fitting over the shaft was smooth. I did the cleaning because my clothes were coming out wet and I noticed the plate was moving free of the basket. I figured change or something had gotten in between the plate and basket keeping it from catching and spinning. There was a ton of gunk but nothing obvious. I pulled the basket thinking I would need a puller or wedged 2x4 with a jack, but it came right out.
