Bob for Model Number Maytag MVWC400XW0 How tight should a person tighten the washplate bolt on a new washplate? Should the bolt stop turning when it's tight enough or still turn?
Answer Hello Bob, the manufacturer does not give a torque rating for that bolt,otherwise best description would be tighten till snug.The bolt should tighten down as it is turned, if it will not tighten it may be stripped,if the bolt is not stripped then the top of the gearcase shaft has stripped out ,that would require the gearcase to be replaced.
