Causes of a bad water tube assembly can include blockages from mineral deposits, kinks or cracks in the tubing, or damage from regular use. If the tube becomes compromised, it can lead to inadequate water supply or leaks.

Symptoms of a bad water tube assembly include:

  • Reduced or no water flow to the ice maker or dispenser
  • Leaking water inside or outside the refrigerator
  • Ice maker not producing ice
  • Water dispenser not functioning properly

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Answer

Hello Dennis, There is no check valve on the water dispenser short of the water inlet valve. If water drips from the water dispense line there is air in the water system, either from the water supply or in the water filter. There could be a loose fitting allowing air to enter the system but this will normally allow water to leak from the line at that point. Try purging the air from the line by throwing away about two gallons of water dispensed from the dispenser. If this doesn't take care of it, there is air in the water supply to the refrigerator. You can install a check valve 8201815 but since one is not present, it will just be installed and not replaced.
