Dale G. for Model Number LE4440xwwo My Electric dryer stopped heating. I checked the temp selector, dryer hose and then unplugged the dryer removed the back cover and using the line diagram checked continuity across the limit switches, and heater element, (I had experience as a HVAC Tech and the associated schooling). The diagram shows a range of 7.8 to 12.8 ohms across the heater. Mine reads 12 ohms. There is what I percieve as a limit switch just above the terminals for the heater element that had no continutity and then I noticed that the switch was burnt and falling appart and one of the leads was discolored due to excessive temperature. Should I replace the Heater Element in addition to the limit switches?
Answer Hello Dale. According to the reading, the heater is ok. You should be fine with replacing the limit switch 279769. Order the kit and change both switches. Make sure the vent is clean and does not have any kinks in it. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, May 23, 2011
