Quinn for Model Number MDE6200AYW The dyer heating element I' looking at replacing, both ends plug onto a thermo fuse, the replacement element, Part number AP3094254, I see only one end plugging onto a thermo fuse. Also, I checked the continuity of the element and it reads 0 ohms on the meter.
Answer Quinn, If you do have an issue with the element assembly, you have the incorrect part. You'd need WPY308612. The Thermo fuse you describe, is actually the Hi Limit thermostat WP303396, and opens when the temperature exceeds 200 dgrs. The thermal fuse WP307473 (with the gray wires) if it opens, it turns off power to the motor, not the heater, and it's a "one shot" fuse, and will need replacement if open. The main thing is What does "0" mean on your meter open or closed ?, here's some meter usage information to help you out [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html] Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
