This overload protector is a thermal motor protector that cuts power if the dryer motor overheats, helping prevent motor damage and unsafe operation. Replace a failed unit to restore the motor's built-in overheating protection. What it does:

  • Senses excessive motor temperature and interrupts motor power to prevent damage.
  • Common symptom: dryer may not start or the motor hums but won't turn when the overload has failed.
  • Helps stop repeated motor overheating and can prevent associated electrical faults.
  • Works as the motor's thermal safety device; must be replaced if open or damaged.
