This is a fan motor that is installed inside several range hoods. It is located inside the hood and helps ensure the fan operates correctly. As a part of the fan, this motor helps filter smoke and other contaminants in the kitchen air to the outside of the home. It removes fumes, greases, steam, and heat from the air. If the fan is no longer operating on a range hood, this could be the result of a damaged fan motor. If that's the case, the component will need to be replaced.First, make sure the range hood is unplugged or the circuit breaker has been turned off. Remove the bottom panel and filters from the appliance. Take off the side panels and pull the range hood down from the cabinet. The fan blade will need to be removed to access the fan motor. Take out the old motor and install the replacement part before reassembling the range hood for use.The fan motor is sold as an individual item.
