How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP3844311 / 00490467 Dispenser

A friend who works for a repair company installed it for me. It works fine. In reguards to ApplianePartsPros it was a pleasure doing business with them. The young lady I talked to knew exactly what I needed, also recommending youtube. Very professional and a pleasure to talk to. 

Replaced the soap dispenser. 

Replaced the soap dispenser with a new soap dispenser. 

I removed the dishwasher door and removed the dispenser. I placed the new dispenser and replaced the door. The video provided on the website was excellent. 

Using the repair video link in the order shipment confirmation it was a quick repair. The tabs to hold the dispenser in are a little bit difficult to get relatched but after they were, the dishwasher works like new. What was excellent about the process was the ordering and shipping. Part arrived in 2 business days. 

I replaced the dispenser - the tricky part was getting the new unit to get behind the metal tabs. In fact several didn’t ever get into place but the fit is so snug it doesn’t leak. I’ll have to keep an eye on it. The amount of pressure needed to get things to lock into place started to bed the door so be careful - the door isn’t very durable to pressure without the front panel on. The repair took so long because I was stubborn and kept trying to get all areas to snap into place without breaking the door. 

Easy install. Torch driver to remove outer shell, take out old unit with flathead screwdriver and pop in the new one. 

Ordered a new dispenser unit and extra gasket, installed it easily in an hour. First time to do such a repair and glad I did it, saved the expense of hiring someone. 

I replaced the entire detergent dispenser.
