How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP5326416 / 00654621 Door Latch

Replaced the latch. 

Thanks to this site, I got the exact right part, and thanks to the AppliancePartsPros video, got to see exactly how to replace it, step by step. Completed the job in ½ hour using only a screwdriver. Saved a least a hundred dollars, I am sure, which I would have spent if a repair person came out. 

First called Sears, they sent two techs who charged over $500 dollars and didn't fix it. I got on YouTube and researched it. Your company was a part of the YouTube information. Ordered the part. Got it within days, installed, dishwasher now works. 

Followed a youtube video. I removed the door cover and control panel assembly. Removed and replaced the latch assembly from the control panel. 

Removed door panel and replaced broken latch. 

Took the front cover off the dishwasher. Removed the latching mechanism and replaced. 

I saw a hint on YouTube that if the arm isn’t spinning add half a gallon of water and recheck. If after you add water the arm spins, then there is a problem with the valve not allowing enough water, and if not enough water, it won’t have the pressure needed to spin the upper arm. I replace the water inlet valve and the video supplied by AppliancePartsPros was exactly how to change it. There was no video for the latch so I removed the front panel of the door. The latch had no screws, it was held in by two pieces of metal at the top that were pushed in. I was able to pull the tabs out and the latch slid right out. 

I was initially going to call an appliance repair man, I figured I would most likely be looking at a 3 or 400 dollar bill, I figured it may not make sense to put that kind of money into a five year old machine. I then looked at dishwashers online and the Bosch I have goes for about 900 bucks. Thats when I googled the latch part and found your website. I found the part in a minute or two on your site and watched the video. I pulled the door off based on what I learned from the 5 minute video. I then removed the part and saw that it looked identical to the one that I found on the site. I then called your # to double check the dishwasher model # and part. The part was about 35 bucks and another 30 bucks to get it the next day. I put the order in that morning and had the part the following afternoon. I had the washer back together in ten minutes and never even had to remove the dirty dishes from the day before when the latch broke. Everything worked like a charm- I was thrilled and it took less time to fix than washing a load of dishes by hand! Thanks a million! The Blakes 

Ordered a new one and replaced it in 20 minutes. 

Found part on Appliance Parts and it arrived within 2 days. 15 minutes later door was working properly.
