How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP4365553 / 134937300 Washer Door Strike Assembly

I replaced the latch which is two screws and a wire harness connector on the back of the switch. I also replaced the broken striker on the door. Two more screws there and pull straight out with a pair of pliers. Then I checked the door to see how the latch and striker lined up while closing. I noticed the striker was about 1/4 in lower than where it was supposed to enter the latch. That led me to look at the door, which I found the hinge was worn and allowed the striker end of the door to dropdown. There is no adjustment for this so replace the hinge and you quit breaking the $40 striker and ruining the $150 latch . The hinge is about $145 

If you can remove and replace 2 screws, this fix is as simple as that! 

Ordered a new striker assembly. It took about three minutes to remove the old one and replace it. Perfect. Now I can wash clothes again. 

I replaced the latch with the replacement parts that I purchased. 

My partner took the striker out and there was no saving it. I looked on line for the part and found it at ApppliancePartsPros, complete with pictures so I could verify that it was the correct part. I ordered it on a Thursday and it was shipped that night. By Saturday morning the part had arrived and my washer was back in working order. No need for a trip to the laundromat! 

We just replace the part with the new. I wanted to Thank the company I order my part on a Sunday suppose to be here Tuesday (2 days later ) Fed Ex Ground never delivered the part they kept saying it was on the way until Friday and then they could not find it. I called Appliance Parts Pros and the person I spoke to was so nice and they resent me another part, said it was suppose to be here by Tuesday but of course Fed Ex Ground said Tuesday also but did not come until Wednesday. But Appliance Parts Pros was great through all of this. I would order again. 

Shipping took 3 days, thank you. Simple replacement of the part took 5 minutes. Back in business! 

Just a few screws and the new part was in! The website helped me to make sure I had the correct part! Nothing worse than not being able to wash in the midst or corona virus outbreak!
