I had to take the water filter unit apart in order to get the old filter off and then realized that the locking device on the base that the filter goes into was defective. Ordered a new base and replaced it by simply removing a few screws. It was an easy fix however the hardest part for me was getting the water hoses back on. I’m a 65-year-old female and it took a lot of effort to push the hoses back up into the base to seal once the new base was in place. With this type of base, it’s easy to remove the water hoses by simply pushing up on the blue release collar with a wrench. It then releases the hoses. Once the new base was installed and in place, the new filter went in easily.
