How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP5802324 / 5304492453 Control Kit (Control Assembly)

Ordered temp control kit. Installed it in half hour. Easy and worked!! 

Easy to install. Looking at the parts diagram that came with the unit when purchased, it was simply to unplug the unit, remove the crisper box supports and then the screws holding the rear cover. In total, the entire process took 15 minutes. Normally, this would have been an expense if you brought in an outside serviceman, diagnostic fee, parts, labor, etc.....what was a $100 part, not including shipping (I had this over nighted)....250-300 repair. 

Replaced thermostat/temperature control with equivalent part. it works. 

But moving the temp dial I could get it started, so I figured it had to be a faulty control unit. I purchased one, also after reading others who had the same symptoms. The total repair probably took me 10 minutes. Another 15 minutes were spent detailing the inside, and now we have a fridge that looks and runs like new! 

Ordered new thermostat controller. worked like a charm 

Replaced cold control thermostat. 

Fixed it myself 

Replaced the cold control unit. This was not a difficult repair to do. The new piece is not identical to the one that replaces, but it was very obvious how the new one was supposed to be installed by examining the old one. All in all it took about 20 minutes to complete, including taking apart the necessary pieces of the refrigerator to access the cold control unit. 

Did troubleshooting .....Cold Control Open....Bypassed cold control ......Unit runs & Cools.. ordered NEW PART...installed...Unit operates normally 

Replaced with new part
