How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP6332951 / 241798231 Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly

I did a search using the refrigerator model number and found Appliance Parts Pros. Their web site made it easy for me to identify the correct part but more than that they had this wonderful little video showing how to remove and install the part. It was very simple and wouldn't have been difficult to figure it out but as with everything having someone show you exactly what to do makes things so much easier. The part arrived the third day after the order was placed and in ten minutes the ice maker was producing ice. The whole project was a very clean and easy process. Thank you Appliance Parts Pros. 

My husband thought it was the solenoid valve and we ordered and replaced it but it didn't fix the problem. I googled leaking icemaker and your answer popped up along with a video! Soooo I ordered the new part and was able to replace it myself. Thank you so much for these videos. I no longer have to wait for honey to get around to it. You and your videos have empowered me. Thank you! 

Replaced ice maker which was about 6 or 7 years old. That solved the problem immediately. The hardest part of this job was melting the mountain of ice that accumulated in the freezer. That took about a half hour with a hair dryer. Replacing the ice maker took less than 5 minutes and a 1/4" nut driver was all that was needed. I also ordered a fill valve for $20 but haven't installed it yet. Obviously the fill valve wasn't the problem but I'm going to replace it anyway. Looks like it will only be a 10 minute job too. Purchased the OEM replacement 

Ordered a new ice maker. Literally a 3 minute plug n play fix. 

I had it narrowed down to either an ice maker or the water valve. I wasn't sure so I emailed Appliance parts and they said it was likely an ice maker and the gave me the part number for my refrigerator. It came the next day and I swapped it out in about 15 minutes. It started working right away. I now have ice. The only thing different was that the electrical connection was a little longer then my old one. That made it a little harder to install but it is always better to have more length then not enough. 

Replaced both parts, and everything is working as new 

Purchased this part and replaced entire ice maker. The ice maker itself was very easy to change outs there was 2 screws and a plug to disconnect/connect 

I ordered a new icemaker and installed it after trying other things like checking the water line and replacing the water filter. The only hard thing was loosening the two nuts that hold the ice maker onto the side of the wall. You cannot see the nuts, and you have to do it by feeling around with your fingers which was a little frustrating, but I got it done in 30 minutes, and then a few hours later, we got ice again. Perfect
