How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP6332951 / 241798231 Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly

I pulled the fridge out, unplugged it, loosened the two screws holding the icemaker to the fridge, pulled it off, unplugged it, removed a bracket and screw from the old one, placed that on the new one, plugged the new one back into the fridge wiring, mounted it to the screws, tightened the screws making sure all was level and where it should be, plugged the fridge back in, and rolled it back into place. It took no more than 10 minutes and in an hour or so longer, ice was being "quietly" deposited in the ice bin. It could not have been easier. The part arrived sooner than I expected, it was exactly what I needed and all went perfectly. 

Ordered the part and it was exactly what I needed. Took out the old, put in the new and now we have Quiet Ice. 

I replaced the entire ice maker. 

Ran harvest cycle using small drive gear to initiate cycle. Heating coil did not function. Water solenoid valves did not operate. Removed ice maker. Tested water solenoid valves. Tested OK. Ran continuity checks of wiring to solenoid valves. Found no issues. Tested diode. OK. Provided 110V power to ice maker and ran harvest cycle. Harvesting fingers ran 1 rotation and provided approx. 7 second power output to solenoid valve lead connection near end of this cycle. Problem appears to be either defective thermostat or shut off switch. Ordered new ice maker. 

I ordered an ice maker assembly on line, a few days it came in, then I removed the old one and replaced it with the new one, it works. 

Unplugged the frig and defrosted everything to assure it wasn't a frozen line. It wasn't/that didn't fix the problem. Poured water in the ice maker to see if it would make and dispense ice cubes. Ice cubes were made but not dispensed. Note: I would do this test first next time. I then determined that at the very least this ice maker was not operational. Theoretically, the water valve and/or wiring could also not be working. So I ordered a new ice maker. Received it in Wasilla, Alaska two days later. Then I unplugged the frig, unscrewed the screws supporting the ice maker, disconnected the wiring connector, transferred the bottom supporting clip from the old ice maker to the new ice maker, connected the new ice makers electrical connection to the fridge, re-installed the supporting screws, and then plugged the fridge back in. This whole process took 5 to 10 minutes. I checked the ice tray a couple of hours later and there were ice cubes in the tray. The ice maker was working again.

I searched on line and found a video on AppliancePartsPros which made it clear that replacing the entire unit myself would be an easy task opposed to trying to determine the individual component that needed to be replaced and far less expensive than having it serviced. After installation the unit was making a clicking noise when ejecting the ice into the collection tray. I called a tech at Appliance... and they suggested I adjust the amount of water coming into the ice maker by slightly turning the appropriate screw on the face of the unit. That eliminated the noise. 

Went on line to fridaire they wanted $66.00 plus shipping, went to your site got the same part for $27.00 plus shipping. Watch all your videos on replacing icemakers, even though you did not have one on that particular task it was helpful got the problem fixed in about 20 minutes.
