How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP4433236 / 316489403 Gas Range Oven Igniter

Used provided video repair, took approximately 30 minutes. The only issue I had was it took a little finesse to remove the door. I also recommend a small flat head screwdriver to help unsnap the electric connection clip. 

Replaced. 

Put in new thermostat 

I went on Google to figure out what the issue was and understood it was ignitor. I went on YouTube to see if it was an easy fix or if I needed to get someone else to do the work for me. It appeared extremely easy so I found the part needed per my model of the oven and then less than 30 minutes, it was fixed. I did have my sister there as moral support because dealing with gas and electricity is not my hobby but again this was very easy to complete. I turned off the power to everything in the kitchen and unplugged the oven to ensure I was safe. I never had to touch the gas. The thought of paying someone else come and do this simple activity made me upset. 

This problem happens when the oven ignitor doesn't fully light up100% correctly. Normally my oven takes one minute to light up, and 6 1/2 to 7 mins to hit 350 degrees. Once the oven started taking over two minutes to light and gas odor was present in the oven I decided to replace the oven ignitor to solve the problem. Note: There was no issue with the broiler or top stove jets. Since you have to take the oven apart, it's a good time to clean and check the oven gas jet to make sure there is no food on it. 

Watched video and ordered a new part, easy fix. Oven working perfectly without paying a repairman. Thank you! 

Ordered a new igniter. Took about 15 minutes to take the door off and metal plates to expose the igniter location. Two screws held the igniter in place and it was super easy to route the electrical connection to the connector under the oven. The new igniter works perfectly and the oven ignites within less than 30 seconds. So happy we got the new igniter and how easy it was to switch out the old one. 

I have done these before BUT this was for my inlaws stove. My father in law is handicapped, so I need to fix it asap. I ordered this on a Tuesday and I had it the next day. Thank you guys I always order my appliance parts from you guys. 

I inquired on your site on what could be the problem, with success. Ordered the OVEN IGNITOR part, followed the video on how to replace the ignitor and, my wife is happy and thinks I am a genius. And, I thank you. 

Even though ignitor would glow it would not open gas to oven burner. Replaced ignitor. Very simple job. Be careful as ignitor itself is somewhat fragile and will easily break. Don’t ask me how I know Ggrrrr
