How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP6230715 / 5304509706 Oven Burner Ignitor

I wasn't sure if it was the ignitor or the safety valve. I'm not good enough with a multimeter to test it, and couldn't see how to get to the parts to test. I took a chance and ordered an ignitor, figuring I could rely on AppliancePartsPros' generous return policy. Swapping the ignitor was very easy, and it worked right away! 

Bought replacement part and put it in. 

With the help of appliance parts pro I bought a new oven igniter 

Problem was fixed by replacing the ignitor in the Oven . Not a hard job but there was a little time involved. On a scale from 1 to 10 on how hard it was to fix it was about a 6 . If you have a little knowledge on repairs you can replace the switch . I did look other places for the part because it was very pricey at 110.00 dollars. However could not find the same part . I did find parts that would work but needed to cut wires and did not want to go that route. All in all it was cheaper to replace the part than to replace the oven which is only just over 2 years old. 

After researching the problem, I determined that the oven igniter needed replacement. 

The oven didn't light, no glow on the igniter, so purchased new igniter. Installed within 10 minutes, very easy, followed your wonderful videos. Still didn't work, so borrowed multimeter, checked for continuity in igniter, gas valve, and then chatted with a representative from Appliance Parts Pro and we narrowed it down to the clock timer. Came within 1 day! Fixed it in 10minutes. Saved me hundreds on a new stove and the inconvenience of shopping for a new appliance, and waiting around for delivery, etc. Minimal interruption when you do it yourself. And the satisfaction from preparing it is the best part. Appliance Parts Pro gave me bragging rights as DIYer!! Thanks a million!! 

Purchased replacement flat ignitier. Then it’s PLUG N PLAY! 

Used the trouble shooting questionnaire on the website. Named the oven igniter as the likely problem. I ordered it from the website since the price was half of what I would pay locally. Watched the repair video on the website. Replaced the part myself and the oven is working again! 

It was an older model but principle the same. I pulled the range from the wall to get to supply line and electrical cord. Unplugged the electric and shut off gas. Took the rack out of oven and removed the screws that held the bottom pan of oven and took nut loose that held flame spreader on and changed to new igniter. Since I am 62 years old it took me a little bit longer but total time was about 15-30 minutes. Video was great help. 

Ordered a new ignitor... Then I simply followed the video 'how to install' instructions. Very simple and easy to do. It took 20 minutes [and I suspect that is only because I never did it before]. I will admit I was lucky that my oven is made so that I didn't have to pull the stove out from the wall. There is a small plate screwed into the base of the burner cavity that covers one of the three connections. I just had to unscrew and remove the plate, then replace the it after I connected the new ignitor. Over works perfectly now.
