Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Oven Burner Ignitor (Part Number: OEM18692154)

Jonah, The igniter should be tested for resistance. Most can measure between 50 and 500. Also, you need to make sure the control is sending 120 VAC to the igniter when bake is pressed. If 120 is present and the igniter will not glow then it needs to be replaced.

I ordered an igniter back in September of 2021. Order Number:13014834. I replaced it and it worked fine until yesterday. We were baking something and halfway through we realized the oven was no longer heating. We tried cutting the oven off and then back on but no luck. Also unplugged it and plugged it back in. Same thing. It's not even glowing like it's trying to heat up. Do you think I just need another igniter or do you think it might be something else since that was just replaced a year and a half ago?

John, the ignitor can be tested for 120VAC at the back of the unit while in a cooking cycle, and the gas supply valve is turned off. If voltage reaches the ignitor and does not glow, the ignitor has failed and needs to be replaced.

Sam, If you remove the grates, and burners then use a flat blade and push the spring clips between the main top and the control panel to release the main top and lift off. Once this is done you will have access to the spark module to replace it.

Frank, there should be a letter at the end of the model provided. If it is A, B, or C the oven ignitor 5303935066 would be used. If the final letter is D the ignitor 5304509706 would be used.

Steven, if testing from wire to ground for 120VAC, it is likely that there is a break either in a wire going to the safety valve 316031501 or the valve itself has failed. The best way to identify this would be to test the safety valve for 120VAC from where the bake ignitor's wire connects to the wire on the opposite terminal. If there is voltage when testing in this manner, the valve has failed. If there is not voltage, there is a wire break.

Brandon, as the igniter 5304509706 has a broad range of resistance (200 to 400O) it is recommended that amp testing or voltage testing is done instead as it is more accurate. Within 60 seconds, the igniter should be drawing 3.2 to 3.6 amps or the safety valve 3203459 should be receiving 3.2 to 3.6VAC from the igniter (either can be used to test the igniter). If the amp draw does not match or the safety valve does not receive the correct voltage within 60 seconds, the igniter has failed. If the correct amps are drawn or the correct voltage reaches the safety valve and the burner does not ignite, the safety valve has failed.

Louise for Model Number TGF317ESB

On your site the oven ignitor for my range is AP6230715. It shows it complete with no more necessary rewiring. Exactly the way my old one looks. I had it ordered from another supplier using that part number but he tells me it will be necessary to do some additional wiring on it to connect it, to the oven side wall plug in the corner, with the white plug-in connector end. I want to know if this part from you is complete like it shows in the video and in the picture. I do not wish to do any further wiring. I just want to take it out and put it back in like the video shows.

Louise, According to the information that I can locate, this would have all the connectors as shown on the photo on appliancepartspros.com

Hello Joe, you'll want to test the oven sensor for resistance. You will be looking for 1091 ohms plus or minus 5 ohms at room temperature, hope this helps!
