How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP7212939 / 5304534663 Ignitor

Replaced Ignitor and...Presto!!! 

Just remove the inside plate and locate the part which had the defect and replace it with the new one I ordered from you all ( AppliancePartsPros.com). A few minutes later my oven was baking as it should. It took me approximately 40 minutes. In part because my Range Model is different from the one in the Video on the website slightly. 

After receiving a new oven ignitor,it took only a few minutes to install. First, I turn off the gas. Second, I unplugged the electricity. Third, I removed the bottom cover and unplugged the old ignitor. I connected the new ignitor and installed the bottom cover and plates inside the oven. Then I cut the gas and electricity back on. I tested the oven and everything went well. 

Put a new one in 

Took the oven apart, ordered a new igniter, replaced, done! Watch out for the oven doors, they’ll getcha. 

Replaced lower gas igniter. 

Oven would not reach temperature and noticed that ignitor was only glowing orange. New ignitor arrived a few days after ordering and well packaged. Easy enough job on my Frigidaire range. Access to the ignitor wiring was through the bottom warming tray. Completely remove the tray and you'll see the wiring in the back. It was a bit of an arm stretch to reach it...but ultimately no big deal. Bottom oven panel had 2 screws in back and removed easily. Then removed flame spread plate to reveal ignitor. My biggest issue was actually moving the ignitor from the flame tube. There are 2 nut screws and one screw was stripped and would not come out. I ended up removing the flame tube (held on by 2 screws) and had to file the screw thread to remove the ignitor casing. After that...new ignitor installed fine...even with one screw. If not for the stubborn screw this would have been a 30 minute job. And it absolutely fixed the temperature issue. You can do it. 

I changed the oven ignitor and everything now works perfectly. 

Had to change glow bar ignitor for gas to turn on. The repair took 20 min and the part fit perfect. 

Replaced the ignitor in the oven fixed the issue. My oven has a Warm and Serve drawer, so you will have to remove the drawer to get to the ignitor connector to release it as well as taking apart the bottom panels inside the oven which is only really easy.
