How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP7212939 / 5304534663 Ignitor

I googled 'oven won't heat' with my model #. A few different results led me to believe it was the igniter so, having used appliancepartspros in the past I checked out prices and ordered it. The repair was really straightforward except that the plug was hard to reach in the back of the stove. If I was a guy or had big hands I probably would have had to take the back of the stove off... 

Replaced the oven ignitor.

Ordered igniter switch arrived next day. Replaced and was cooking that night. Saved me plenty of money, 

We had to pull out about 3 layers of the oven all the way to the bottom pretty much to get to the oven igniter. We disconnected that from the upper part but had to go through the bottom warming drawer to get to the plug. Once that was all done the rest was a breeze putting it back together. The part fit perfectly and worked great. 

By looking at the schematic and finding the ignitor and gas valve, I found that others had experienced a similar problem with their ovens. Specifically, the part about the ignitor having to glow "white=hot" as opposed to just red/orange hot (what mine was doing). Since the broiler in the oven still worked (separate ignitor that glowed white-hot) I took a chance and ordered the oven ignitor at 4:30pm in the afternoon. The order entry woman informed me that it would still ship that day from the Memphis, TN depot and that it should arrive in a couple of days. Sounded OK for me. However, it arrived the next day, before noon (FedEx Ground) to Madison, Wisconsin! I was more than a bit surprised and very pleased. Thanks Appliance Parts Pros for all you did to make my repair happen quickly and easily! (P.S. the "how-to" video really helped!) 

Ordered replacement part. However, the electrical connector was not compatible so I had to snip the wires and use wire nuts to connect. Oven fired up without a problem. 

Replaced ignitor 

I looked up the video online and saw how easy it was. Ordered the part from appliance parts pros. It was here in 2 days. The item was damaged in transit, with the box dented in and the heating element snapped. I called and they shipped me another next day. Awesome customer service. The job took ten minutes and I was so happy I didn't call a repairman.
