How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP6031188 / 5304505088 Washer Door Latch

Ordered new latch based on schematic on app.com. While the latch replacement was a 2 minute fix I found that the broken off piece was locked into the female end on the rim of the washer. I removed that (2 screws) then needed to unplug the housing and then release the box that held the receiver. I found it to be a spring loaded catch that once I opened it- the tip of the latch came out. The housing that held the female receiver was plastic and had four small pressure catches that once released opened to the latch, easy. The you simply put back together, replace the plug and screw it all back into the side/front? Once you turn on the washer and close the door the latch is accepted by the female side. Note this will not happen until the washer is on and the door is closed. All in perhaps 15 minutes work after my remedial mechanical mind thought it through. 

Originally, I purchased an "OEM" part from one of those outsourced parts suppliers to try and save a bit of money. After installing it, all of a sudden I started leaking the door seal. After fighting with the latch for hours I couldn't get it to stop leaking so I ordered a true OEM part from you guys and boom, no leak. Even though I have ordered many parts over the years from AppliancePartsPros.com, trying to save a few dollars ended up costing me more time and money! No more shopping around, all of my parts are coming from here from now on! 

I tried to find a part locally and no one had it. Went online to your easy-to-use website and found and ordered part. It took a couple of days to get here using standard delivery. It took less than five minutes to install. Will go to your website next time I need a part. A piece of cake!

Ordered the Door Latch & Receiver and watched the repair video. done in 15 mins. 

Ordered the Door Strike and the Door Lock Assembly because I broke that too. Ordered on a Sunday night and received the parts Tuesday. Was a piece of cake to replace thank you AppliancePartsPros.com. 

Turns out the cheap folks at Electrolux use painted plastic (silver) for their latch components… After a couple of years of opening and closing the washer. It broke off. Inside the receiving end of the assembly. Had to take the entire electronic elements out of the door to get the broken pieces out (just a pain in the backside). The repair was easy and the washing machine is back in business. Thanks, AppliancePartsPros.com! 

Noticed the washer door wouldn’t close. When I looked, I noticed the latch was broken. The latch broke off inside the electronic lock. Ugh. What to do? Buy a new washer for $3k? Call a repairman for >$500? I ordered the parts. For a little over $100 they were here in two days. Took a Phillips screwdriver and 5 min to fix it. So happy I did it myself. Very glad I found AppliancePartsPros.com!!! 

Ordered a replacement latch. Only two very accessible screws. FedEx 2 day delivery was very late. 

Replaced door striker. Removed safety latch and removed broken shard and reattached it to the washer.
