How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP6989890 / 5304525218 Door Latch

Installed a new door latch. 

Ordered part and received in a few days. Repair was easy and simple. 

New electric latch assembly. 

Perfect. I am not handy at all but I watched the video on your website & ordered the part & it was easier than I could have imagined. 

Only two screws to remove and disconnect two wires. 

The latch assembly was a simple to install. It was just plug and play. So I am going to order another just to have in case this happens again. 

Removed control panel and replaced the latch assembly. Very easy. 

R AND R Door latch assembly. 

Replaced the entire latch assembly. 

Removed door panel to replace the latch. The latch wasn't broken, it had simply come loose and fallen to the bottom of the door. I reattached it with the screws that had also fallen to the bottom of the door. We'll see if it holds up. Lesson learned....make sure the part is actually broken before ordering a replacement.
