How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP5998652 / 316233903 Probe

I replaced the temperature sensor probe. The only complication was that the electrical plug did not match the shape of the existing so I had to splice the end from the original. The videos on the website are very informative and helpful for troubleshooting your problem and determining the best course of action. 

I went to the Appliance Parts Pros website and spoke with Shawn in customer service via the chat option. He was very helpful and suggested I order the thermostat for my stove. It arrived in about a week and I installed it the same day. It was a very easy install with the exception of the wiring harnesses didn’t match so I had to splice the wires together. It worked perfectly and now my stove is working like new. I really appreciate everything Shawn did to assist me and make this project much easier. 

Went to appliance parts pro web sight and found that it was either the temp probe or the oven control board so I ordered both and a new over lay as mine was 15 years old and watched the video on how to change out the parts when the parts arrived there had been updates and they looked different so I called appliance parts pro and there representative was able to look up and find that they were the correct parts and they went in very easy 

Great, took about 10 min 

Some good repair videos on Youtube help me hone in on the problem.....a slow reacting ignitor. So I ordered the ignitor and a new probe. The parts come about 3-4 days later. I installed the ignitor, did not need to install the probe and did some temperature offset adjustments and now the oven word just simply great. My wife had gotten discouraged with the stove after a number of "fallen" cakes graced our table. She has not tried any cakes yet but we know we have a much faster reacting temperature control and more accurate temperature indications in our Frigidaire now. Maybe the "desert deprivation" will now end with a well repaired oven. We will see. 

I bought heat sensor (which I was told was no longer available by Sears ) 

I talked to customer service about this issue and discovered control was bad. I ordered it in along with new heating element and heat sensor, the stove is working good as new, thank you for the help. 

Quick easy replacement of lower heating element and temperature probe. 

Unplugged stove shut off gas supply. Removed top off stove and removed igniter/gas orifice housing buy unscrewing gas line. Installed new parts plight stove back in turned on gas and both issues look to be fixed. I did have to splice the electrical connector for probe as it was different than the original. 

I replaced the Clock/Oven Control.
