How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP3777104 / 134440200 Upper Felt Seal

Replaced the felt seals. Old ones were worn down .Made sure they butted up to rim. Seams to be working fine now. 

Replaced the rear drum bearing, both the upper and lower felt seals, and the drive belt, just because I was there. The dryer now is a lot quieter and the gap at the front of the drum closed up. 

I replaced the rear bearing and the felt seals on the front door housing then installed a new heating element. The worst part was cleaning the old glue off for the feet and lower fan seal then cleaning all the blower housing and piping of lent. All and all a fairly easy job. The longest part was waiting on the glue to set up. 

I replaced the upper and lower felt seals using the high temp adhesive included with the lower felt seal. I actually discovered AppliancePartsPros.com in the comments section of someone's repair video on YouTube. This particular YouTube user's video was actually terrible, but with the reference to AppliancePartsPros.com I obtained the information I needed. We unplugged the dryer. The glides and felt melted together so we had to take them both off, scraping off the old glue and put on the new glides, and the new felt parts, top, and bottom. Waiting for 24 hrs for the glue to dry, put on a new belt since it had a slight warn spot that we didn’t want to take the chance. Then after re-hooking up the electrical cords and screwed the door and lid back on, We plugged the power cord and YAY WE DRIED a load of clothes. Put in second load, nothing but a code dr. So we assuming it was the door, we followed the video to fix it and it told us to unplug it and wait 10 minutes plug back in, and try. Nothing. So another video said if it's the door latch to push the door shut while you tried turning it on and if it works it’s not the electrical board, just the `LK65Cdoor latch. Pops in and out and works great!!! 

Replaced the upper and lower felt..new belt..new tensioner..and new rear bearing.. also while I was that far just went ahead and did the heating element. Oh and let's not forget the glides for the felt. Pretty much just rip off top cover and then front door assembly..from there the whole drum comes out the front and everything is there.make sure you have an air compressor to blow all the build up of hair and lint 

The dryer had to be moved to the garage where there was more room to work and all the built up lint vacuumed out of it. I replaced the rear bearing assembly as well as the idler pulley and drive belt. While it was apart, your rep., Michael recommended replacing the upper and lower seals. Michael was a great help as well as being friendly. 

Watched excellent AppliancePartsPros videos. Replaced drum main bearing, belt & upper felt seal. Cleaned all air passages. Applied band-aids to all cuts and nicks on my fingers. 

When the problem began you could unplug the dryer, wait a few minutes, plug it back in and it would work for days without issues. Finally, it would run for about 1 minute and the flashing lights would come on without touching the buttons. The electronic control board was the failure, the control board also has the switch buttons incorporated which made sense with the codes occurring. We also have the Affinity washer that was part of the pair, it too has required a control board replacement (weak point for sure). I replaced the drum bearing, belt idler assembly, belt, door switch and upper felt seal as maintenance items on the 11-year-old dryer. I also found the seals for the blower housing were in bad shape and replaced them. It took more time cleaning the old glue off of the surfaces than the repairs
